Your child has been invited to participate in the North West All Schools Touch Football Carnival at Gipps Street playing fields, Tamworth on: Wednesday 29th May 2024 - Stage 4 (years 7 and 8) Thursday 30th May 2024 - Stage 5 (years 9 and 10) This excursion has been planned for sport curriculum learning area The excursion will cost $0 The students will depart from Manilla Central School at 8:00am The students will return to Manilla Central School by 3:00pm Travel will be by bus The students will be supervised by staff members Mrs Cowell and Miss Thrupp Students are to wear sports uniform and will need the following items: Snacks and lunch to be brought from home Adequate water Sunhat and sunscreen Additional Information Students may bring mobile phones on the excursion and are required to comply with our Yondr Mobile Phone Policy. Cross Country - Secondary

The annual Manilla Central School Cross Country will be held on Friday 3rd May 2024. The Cross Country is a K-12 whole school event, and it is expected that all secondary students attend the day as this is part of the schools’ sport program. Parents and carers are welcome to attend. The event will start at approx. 11:30am at the Secondary site. The course will consist of school grounds and surrounding streets; Carinya Avenue, Court Street and Wilga Avenue. The students will be supervised by all classroom teachers and learning support staff. Supervisors will be located at certain check points across the course. Students will need to bring the following items: • Sunhat and sunscreen • Adequate water Students are asked to wear sport uniform or their house colours which are: ADARA – Orange SIRIUS – Purple ZEMOS – Aqua Additional Information Students may bring mobile phones to the carnival and are required to comply with our Yondr Mobile Phone Policy. Your child has expressed interest in attending the UNE Open Day at University of New England, Armidale on Friday 3rd May 2024. This excursion has been planned for Careers curriculum learning area. The excursion will cost $0 The class will depart from MCS at 7:00am The students will return to MCS at 4:00pm Travel will be by bus The students will be supervised by staff members Mrs Jones Morning tea and lunch is provided by UNE. Students will need the following items on this excursion: • Full school uniform • Water bottle Additional Information UNE Open Day gives students the chance to explore the University of New England and get a taste of studying at University. Name of Incursion: Make Bullying History delivered by the Life Choices Foundation Date/Time: Thursday 9th May 2024, Years 7-11 from 2:00pm - 3:20pm Curriculum Learning Area: Wellbeing/PDHPE Teacher in charge: Mr Connors Location/Venue: Manilla Central School Hall (MPC) Dress: School Uniform Group to be supervised by: Classroom teachers & learning support staff Additional Information: The Life Choices Foundation brings you the Make Bullying History Program. The program can reduce rates of bullying incidents and increase the feeling of safety within the school community. The evidence informed program shares real life stories of how individuals and school communities can overcome bullying, help be there for each other and make school enjoyable. The program is delivered by Brett Murray, Australian of the Year Nominee, former State Champion Boxer and State level competitor of 5 different sporting disciplines. Brett draws on his life experience to help deliver the Program.
