High potential and gifted education

Some students learn faster and more easily than others. These students may shine in creativity, thinking, leadership or sport.

At our school, we recognise and nurture these strengths early. We support advanced learners with great lessons and activities to help them grow and thrive.

Why choose us for your high potential or gifted child?

Opening doors to wider experiences

Our students can participate in a wide range of state-wide opportunities that aim to extend and enrich student potential.

What is high potential and gifted education?

High potential and gifted education (HPGE) is how our school supports students with advanced learning needs.

We do this through:

Our high potential and gifted education opportunities

At our school, the targeted HPGE Numeracy and Literacy skill groups are carefully tiered according to each student's skill level to provide support precisely at their point of need. This approach ensures that students are challenged appropriately, fostering growth rather than holding them back. Explicit teaching is embedded across all Key Learning Areas (KLAs), reinforcing essential skills consistently throughout the curriculum. Our literacy and numeracy assessments are designed to align with the format of NAPLAN and regular check-in assessments, enabling students to focus on demonstrating their knowledge and skills confidently rather than being overwhelmed by the process. Additionally, students can engage in programs specifically designed to improve their literacy and numeracy skills, ensuring that no student is left behind. They can also participate in targeted enrichment activities tailored to their unique skill sets, providing further opportunities to develop and excel beyond the standard classroom experience.
