S3H have had a settled and productive start to Term 4. We have been examining and practising persuasive writing techniques in order to strengthen and substantiate our opinions on various topics. In reading we have been continuing to improve our comprehension of many varied texts, including fiction, non-fiction and visual texts.
In Maths we are trialling some new online Maths programs to assist in consolidation of our mathematical knowledge and skills. Students have just started a research task in our Unit of Inquiry on Living World, to investigate animal adaptations for some unusual and unique animals. We have been having heaps of fun in our drama unit. So far we have learnt some warm-up games and the different elements of drama and how they are utilised in mime.
Many students are also enjoying the new K-6 format of our sports rotations and the different activities we have on offer this term.
A big focus in S3H this term is effective communication. We are working on body language, confidence, voice projection and active listening when sharing things in pairs, groups, or to the whole class.
It was also great to take part in Book Week celebrations last week.
